ENF Wrights Lake Recreation and Tourism Improvements Project

The recreation infrastructure and amenities at Wrights Lake were constructed several decades ago and, since then, have experienced winter heavy snow and spring thaws. The high demands of present-day visitor use have impacted existing structures and amenities. The purpose of the Wrights Lake Recreation and Tourism Improvement Project, hereinafter “Project,” proposed herein is to modernize and enhance the recreation infrastructure and experience of visitors and residents alike with improvements to parking safety, information kiosks, fee stations, trail access, restrooms, water spigots, campsites, and accessibility features commensurate with present-day usage. The Project will also regrade damaged areas of the main roadway and implement critical traffic control features to increase visitor safety and access.

The west side of the Wrights Lake Recreation Area consists of one family campground, a picnic area, and a boat ramp. Eight new gates (plus one replace in-kind) would be installed to deter public from camping in the campground when it is closed for the season or for administrative purposes. The public would still be able to access the day use area and the boat ramp if these gates are used to close the campground. Cabin owners will also be able to access their summer homes if the gates are closed.
